An Atlanta police officer who was following a fire truck en route to an emergency was injured in an accident Thursday afternoon in Atlanta. According to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the officer was traveling on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, near the intersection of Hollywood Road in an unmarked car equipped with emergency lights behind a fire truck. Both vehicles were responding to an emergency call. The fire truck passed a Toyota Camry that was waiting to turn left at a stop sign at Eugenia Street. The driver of the Camry did not notice the police car following the fire truck and turned into its path.
The accident caused the police officer to suffer a knee injury, and they were transported to Grady Hospital for treatment. An additional person involved in the accident also complained of neck pain.
