According to a report from Fox 5, a woman is dead and her passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Riverside Parkway Thursday afternoon. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries. As of the publication of Fox 5’s report, police were still seeking information from other drivers in the area to learn what happened. Witnesses to this accident can contact the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3987

In Georgia, when a passenger is injured in an accident, they have the same right as drivers to seek compensation for their injuries by filing a personal injury claim against a liable party’s auto insurance policy, even if the driver of the vehicle they were riding in was at-fault, and even if the driver is deceased as a result of the accident. The type of compensation that can be sought includes payment of medical expenses, lost wages, future lost earning capacity, and physical and emotional pain and suffering.
